Wood is currently looking for a Pipeline Engineer (Technical Authority Level 3) to strengthen our team in Dubai.  This is a home office position based in Dubai that will require occasional travel to Basra in Iraq.   To provide pipeline engineering expertise to manage and deliver pipelines and related equipments in onshore pipeline projects for our Client in Iraq.  Also, interface with discipline engineering and construction teams in support of all phases of projects, as pipeline systems development, including concept selection, FEED and detailed design, through construction, commissioning and start-up, operation and integrity maintenance.   Accountabilities - To act as the Technical Authority in the area of Pipeline Engineering - Perform pipeline route selection, ROW permitting requirements, optimization studies, pipeline system design including resolution of interfaces, attending risk workshops, pipeline hydraulics, pipeline sizing, preparation of pipeline design basis, piping material specification, review of piping & instrumentation diagram (P&ID), development of equipment layouts, selection of pipeline material, grades and wall thicknesses etc. - Delivery of pipeline system design including pipeline design basis, mechanical design calculations, preparation/checking of pipeline alignment sheets and crossing drawings, attending HAZOP/HAZID/Constructability review workshops, selection and specification of materials, stress analysis of pipelines and piping, material take-off, preparation of procurement related documents, specification of materials, material requisition, technical bid evaluation and recommendation of offers/bids, review and approval of vendor drawings, conceptualization and generation of piping general arrangement, station approach  drawings & isometrics, monitoring and supervision of drafting, stress analysis for pipeline / piping systems using Caesar/Auto pipe, design of piping supports. - Prepare construction bid packages including technical evaluation criteria, ITT preparation for pipeline execution contracts including EPCm / Pipeline construction & Pre-Commission/ Hot tap scopes, review and recommendation of bid evaluation, design review of turnkey Contractor’s design / drawings / documents, technical side management of extra works claims. - Provide SME level pipeline technical expertise, including technical review and assurance in all pipeline engineering works in projects. - Ensure timely inputs for land allocation requests and land allocation permits. - Inputs to design of emergency shutdown systems and special pipeline components, and tie-ins; coatings and liners and insulation. Wood is currently looking for an Engineering Lead to join our team in Dubai, UAE   This position plays an important role in the support of  our Client Projects executed in Iraq. The candidate will oversee and act on behalf of the Project delivery teams. Candidate will provide steer and leadership at Wood office in Dubai, UAE, to implement the agreed engineering and procurement scope and develop continuous improvement plans, focussing on ways of working with the Wood to deliver on agreed project specific technical requirements, use of replicated solutions, standardisation of technical requirements, all of which through a data centric approach.   The Engineering Lead’s responsibility is to ensure the selected engineering choices are implemented in a robust way, from FEED to detail engineering, up to completions and commissioning.   Key challenges include   Our Client uses predominantly split contract strategies where design errors and construction challenges need to be managed by the Owners team, i.c.w. the Engineering Lead.
